Ron Kirby: Reminiscence
After leaving the RAF in late 1962, early 1963 I joined LEO at Cadby Hall where I was working on LEO II/I. Following a relatively long career in various companies related to the computer industry I retired and by various routes got involved in local history as part of which I give talks to local clubs and societies. I also belong to a Probus club and a few years ago was asked to talk about an interesting part of my career. I chose to talk about the first computer to run a commercial application and have since turned that into a talk about the rise and fall of J. Lyons and how the British Computer Industry also rose and fell and along the way I cover the story of 'A Computer Called Leo'. Date : UnknownThis exhibit has a reference ID of CH58309.
